Students, mark your calendars for a Youth Summit and Talent Show to be held Jan. 22, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 2216 17th St. in Bakersfield. The event is free.

The Youth Summit was created to teach students about student right’s in education. The organizers of the event hope that after this summit encourages students to become for meaningfully involved with the Local Control Accountability Plan.

The summit is hosted by the Dolores Huerta Foundation in collaboration with Building Healthy Communities South Kern, California Rural Legal Assistance, Greater Bakersfield Legal Assistance, and First and Always Melanin.
